Letter to the Editor

Abstract:
Last week, the Chimes disappointed many readers when they saw that there was no "Stay Classy, Capital" column. I heard a multitude of reasons for why there wasn't an article. Everything from "he was fired" to "he wasn't allowed to write because of Family Weekend....

Connor Thompson is to be commended for his mature attitude in resolving the issue of his former column. His personal blog is the appropriate venus for the material he presents. Thank you, Connor, for your considerate decision. It is a good reflection on Capital University and its students.

That letter impressed me with Connor way more than the original "Get To Know" interview. (Note that this was never about censorship, just venue; we hardly want the Capital website to be blacklisted by high school internet filters such that prospective students can't virtually tour our campus :-)

One's freshman year is always a major learning experience. It looks like some valuable learning is indeed going on...which is the whole point of college, after all! Kudos for finding a graceful solution in a sticky situation.
